Letter from the Executive Editor

Abstract

To our distinguished readers,

Welcome to the latest issue of the Public Health Review!

This summer, our spotlight writer is Erin Appelt, whose article, " The problem of poor and fair self-rated health among Native Americans in Arizona: Implications for education policy," proposes education policy to improve the health of Native Americans living in her home state of Arizona. Appelt argues that by increasing the counselor to student ratio, schools can more effectively address various social determinants of health to benefit student health. This piece clearly demonstrates that public health is an interdisciplinary field that can influence policy change to improve health equity.

Our sincerest gratitude to all of our other authors, our Editorial Board, our Advisory Board, our colleagues at the University of Minnesota Libraries Publishing, and our reviewers, whose hard work and dedication has made this issue possible.

The Public Health Review continues to explore and spread emerging and persisting public health issues to a broad audience as guided by our vision to promote health equity for all. The journal serves as a platform for the discovery, development, and dissemination of high-quality information regarding important public health issues and topics that will ultimately advance and responsibly inform public health research, policy, and practice. We ask you, our readers, to help us meet this objective by sharing the journal with colleagues and friends, submitting your own work for publication, and considering how your profession and hobbies contribute to the public health of our greater society. After all, public health is widely relevant! The more extensive our audience, the more reflective the journal can be.

On behalf of the Public Health Review Editorial Board, I hope you enjoy this issue!

Warm regards,

Sarah Perez-Sanz
