Abstract

Poor or fair self-rated health is correlated with higher mortality and morbility rates.  Native Americans in Arizona suffer disproportionately from a variety of negative health outcomes, including higher rates of poor or fair self-rated health compared to other racial and ethnic groups living in Arizona.  This policy proposal explores the implications for higher rates of poor or fair self-rated health, and discusses one potential step the Arizona state legislature can take to address this broad health issue.
