Abstract
The existence of transgender 1 people in the United States has been downplayed and underemphasized by major institutions, decreasing the visibility of gender variant experiences. As a result, health care that specifically addresses the needs of transgender people, like medical transition and gender therapy, are deprioritized. While this issue is pervasive across the US, it is most observed in diverse urban areas.
