Editorial Board Applications

Editorial board applications are now CLOSED! Check back in Spring 2027.

Students can apply to up to 4 of the 7 open positions:

  • Editor-in-Chief
  • Managing Editor
  • Recruitment Editor
  • Training Editor
  • Publication Editor
  • Media and Outreach Director
  • Finance and Grant Editor

Eligibility:

  • Board members must be degree seeking, undergraduate students that are currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
  • Board members must be available for the full academic year assuming responsibilities from July 1st, 2025 to June 30th, 2026.
  • Preference will be given to upperclassmen (incoming Juniors or Seniors), but well-qualified underclassmen are encouraged to apply.

The short answer questions are as follows (answers should be 150-300 words):

  • Why do you want to be involved with the Minnesota Undergraduate Research & Academic Journal? Please also highlight your reasons for selecting the positions of interest.
  • Describe an experience where you have been part of a team. What role did you play, and how did you contribute?
  • Please briefly describe your other commitments for the summer 2025, fall 2025, and spring 2026 semesters

You will also be asked to supply a resume and/ or CV. Applications submitted by April 3rd will be reviewed by the current Editorial Board, and applicants can be invited to interview in the week of April 5th and 13th. The time commitment is expected to be 3-4 hours per week through the fall and spring semesters.
