Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

The article must be the Author(s) original work.

You must be the author, or the authorized agent of the author(s) and copyright holder. If different from the author(s): the author(s) must have approved the work for publication; the author(s) must have agreed to submit the article to the Journal; the author(s) must accept full responsibility for the content of the Article.

Authors agree that, if accepted for publication, articles will be published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, which permits users to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format, so long as attribution is given to the creator.

The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.

Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

If used, generative AI use has been disclosed in the manuscript.

If applicable, all funding sources and/or conflicts of interest have been disclosed in the manuscript.

If necessary, information about IRB review has been included in the manuscript.
Author Guidelines
All submissions to the journal must be made through the submissions portal, available by clicking the "Make a Submission" link above.
WEJC accepts the following types of articles:
- Empirical research papers and systematic reviews (approximately 6,000-8,000 words)
- Essays, concept papers, and review articles (approximately 4,000-5,000 words)
- Short reports, technical briefs, and policy briefs (approximately 2,000-3,000 words)
- Book reviews (approximately 1,000-2,000 words)
All word counts include everything such as abstract (approximately 150-200 words), main text, references, and appendices. The word counts can be flexible on a case-by-case basis.
Formatting
- Articles must be submitted with 1.15 or 1.5 line spacing on an A4-sized Word document with margins on all sides at 2.54 cm (1 inch).
- Articles must be in Times New Roman (size 12) and justified (except the reference list).
- Articles titles, headings, and sub-headings must be in sentence case (i.e., capitalizing only the first word and proper nouns), left aligned, and bold.
- Headings should be limited to three levels of headings.
- Abbreviations should be accompanied by full words at first mention.
- Italics should be used for emphasis.
- Endnotes should be used instead of footnotes.
- In-text citations and the reference list should follow the APA referencing style (Author, Year).
- Tables and Figures should be numbered using Arabic numerals.
- A table caption (title) should be placed above the table.
- A figure caption (title) should be placed below the figure.
- Tables and Figures should be submitted within the body of the text.
- Double quotation marks should be used for direct quotes.
- Quotations of more than 40 words should be set off from the main text by indentation, without any quotation marks.
References
Acknowledgment of sources (both in-text citations and the reference list) must follow the APA 7th referencing style. The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text. The last names of the first author of each work should alphabetize reference list entries. If available, please always include DOIs as full DOI links or URL links in your reference list (e.g., https://doi.org/10.62037/WEJC.2021.01.01.01).

Authorship
All authors whose names appear in the manuscript should meet the following four criteria:
- Have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND
- Have drafted the work or reviewed it critically for important intellectual content; AND
- Have approved the final version to be published; AND
- Have agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
Submission
All submissions must be sent as two separate Microsoft Word documents:
- Title Page (A title page that contains an article title, author names, affiliations, emails, address
of the corresponding author, a short author bio of around 50 words for each author)
- Fully-Anonymous Manuscript (a manuscript without information about the authors such as names and/or author bios)
Policies
Authors should refer to the journal's written policies to ensure that they have included all relevant information, including details about funding sources, conflicts of interest, and the use of AI tools.
