Abstract

El cambio climático y el despoblamiento rural son dos realidades que confluyen en la experiencia narrativa que gracias al taller creativo dedicado al chopo cabecero pudieron vivir los niños y jóvenes de Portalrubio (Teruel), ejemplo de España vaciada, en el verano de 2023.  Dicho taller fue una actividad pedagógica, experimental artística y divertida cuyo fin central fue llamar la atención de la juventud que visita el pueblo en verano sobre el entorno que nos rodea y ese árbol que están acostumbrados a ver: el chopo cabecero. Para poder entender esta experiencia, en primer lugar, presentaremos el entorno, a continuación, hablaremos del chopo cabecero y terminaremos con la descripción del taller creativo.

Climate change and the rural exodus are two realities that converge in the narrative experience that the children and young people of Portalrubio (Teruel), an example of Spain's rural depopulation, were able to enjoy in the summer of 2024 thanks to the creative workshop dedicated to chopo cabecero (the elm tree). This workshop was an educational, experimental, artistic and funny activity whose main purpose was to draw the attention of young people visiting the village in summer to the environment and these trees they are used to seeing. After a brief introduction to the theoretical framework, the setting will be presented; this will be followed by a description of the creative workshop, to conclude with a brief reflection on the value of environmental literacy, both pedagogically and emotionally.
