As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

• The submission has not been previously published. Note: Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but the author must withdraw their submission if it has been accepted for publication elsewhere. To withdraw a submission, please email the editors at umdroaringmuse@gmail.com.
• The submission adheres to current submission guidelines:
  - Fiction, creative nonfiction, nonfiction: less than 5000 words
  - Poetry: 5 poems or fewer (no more than 5 pages)
  - Drama: one-act plays - 15 pages
  - Visual art: For visual artists only: Please submit a brief artist statement (150-300 words) that notes the title of your work, the methods and materials used, and the year of creation. The statement should also briefly describe the work's central themes, tensions, and/or explorations. Please send in images 300 DPI or greater.
  Multimedia: Musical Recording should have either melody transcriptions or lyrics sheets (both if possible). Please include a brief statement (150-300 words) that notes the title of your work, and any other information you wish to include.
• The author's name and contact information does NOT appear on the submission. Contact information should be submitted separately in the contact information sheet.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
