Abstract
Many colleges and universities have a Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning for faculty. Most of those colleges, however, don’t have a center for student success. There is a growing body of research suggesting that technology and information literacy plays a large part in retention and student success. With this in mind, MSU Mankato decided to start asking faculty, current students, alumni, and the businesses that consistently hire our students about technology skills and integration. We received some interesting feedback that led to the creation of a Student Technology Resource Center. During this presentation we will talk about the challenges that faculty and students face when a faculty member integrates innovative technology into the classroom. We will also discuss our insights into student, faculty, and business expectations that may surprise and drive other colleges and universities to start a similar initiative
