As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The cover page of a manuscript should include the title, all authors and institutions, and keywords, followed by a structured abstract.
Structured abstracts are also submitted in the Abstract field during submission and should use the following format:
Abstract: Must include abstract. The abstract should be a concise description of the article.
Acknowledgements: Include only if applicable.
Funding: Include only if applicable.
Use of AI tools: If AI is used to support any aspect of the research process and procedures as well as manuscript dissemination efforts, authors are required to disclose this information. Explicit information on how and where as well as the AI tool name and reason should be stated in the methodology and structured abstract.
Conflicts of Interest: Must declare any conflicts of interest. If there are none to declare, please affirm use the following: We declare no conflicts of interest or financial interests that the authors or members of their immediate families have in any product or service discussed in the manuscript, including grants (pending or received), employment, gifts, stock holdings or options, honoraria, consultancies, expert testimony, patents, and royalties.
Treatment of Human Subjects: Author(s) have sought and received Institution Review Board (IRB) or related advisor board associated with each authors institution.
If including photo(s) in your manuscript submission, you must submit a signed release from each identifiable subject or subject’s guardian in a photograph before publication. You must also submit a release from the photographer if you do not own the photo.
Please read and complete the photo release form for each photo, if photos are to be included in your submission.
