Abstract

Can social media be integrated in teaching and how? How much of the class interaction belongs to Twitter and Facebook and how much to other platforms such as Learning Management Systems (LMS)? Are students willing to consider leisurely activity on social media platform such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. and allow instructors to use them as vehicles for learning content and expect learning interaction? Where does instructors and where does students preference lie when opting between CMS and social media and how it can be reconciled? What are the advantages of using social media as communication channel and what are the advantages of using CMS?
